You may have decided that you want your unit to be built on a specific wall but you need to consider where the electrical outlets are in the room. If you consider that you'll likely have a tv, a modem, a computer, a video console and more to hook up, you'll need to make sure it is a dedicated outlet that can handle that much activity.

2. Lighting

Depending on which direction your home faces and where the windows in your room are situated, you'll want to pay attention to where the sunlight hits the room and ensure it's not directly on your tv during the times that you want to relax and catch a movie.

3. Accommodation of Devices
